JAMBHQ Not Responsible for Setting Minimum Admission Scores – Oloyede
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, clarified that JAMB does not set the minimum tolerable admission scores, often referred to as cut-off marks. Instead, this responsibility lies with individual tertiary institutions, while JAMB only ensures that these institutions do not go below the national benchmark decided at policy meetings. Oloyede emphasized that meeting the minimum score does not guarantee automatic admission, as other factors are also considered.
Institutions Selling Unauthorized Forms Face Sanctions
JAMB has issued a warning to institutions selling in-house application forms, reminding them that all applications for admissions must be processed through JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS). Institutions are advised to guide candidates to apply through JAMB instead of selling unauthorized forms, to avoid facing government sanctions.

Profile Creation Mandatory for Non-Regular Programmes
JAMB has mandated that all candidates seeking admission into non-regular programmes such as Part-time, Sandwich, Open University, and Distance Learning must generate a profile code using their National Identification Number (NIN) before registration. This move ensures streamlined and consistent processing for non-regular admissions through JAMB’s platform, available year-round.
British Council Ensures Integrity of Cambridge Exams
The British Council has reassured JAMB of the integrity and high standards of its Cambridge A-Level examinations. During a visit to JAMB’s headquarters, the Council’s Director of Programmes, Mr. Chikodi Onyemereca, detailed the rigorous measures in place to ensure examination quality and security. JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, highlighted the need for maintaining these standards and suggested incorporating the National Identification Number (NIN) for candidate verification.
