Episode 1: The Scholarship Letter
Chisom had never seen her mother cry like that — not even when Papa walked out five years ago.
She clutched the thin envelope like it was made of gold. “St. James College?” she whispered, voice trembling.
“Yes!” her mother beamed through tears. “You got the scholarship. Full ride, boarding, everything.”
Chisom stood frozen in their small sitting room in Umuahia, barely hearing the neighbor’s radio blaring from next door. St. James wasn’t just any school — it was where senators sent their children. Where destinies were written before graduation. And now she, Chisom Nwankwo, a girl who once sold groundnuts after school, was going.
She didn’t sleep that night. Partly excitement. Partly dread.
Two Weeks Later
The school gates rose like a castle — black iron bars with golden crests. A line of luxury SUVs curved along the driveway, students with suitcases and expensive accents stepping out.
Chisom stepped out too, holding a secondhand box and a heart full of dreams.
“First time?” a boy asked beside her. She nodded. “Name’s Dapo. Final year. If you hear any weird stories, ignore them. This school likes drama.”
He winked and walked away.
She didn’t ask what he meant.
The Library
By Wednesday, Chisom had memorized the school map, befriended two girls, and begun to feel like she belonged — until she entered the library.
It was empty. Quiet. The librarian wasn’t in.
On the last table near the computer corner, she saw a flash drive — plain, blue, half sticking out of the keyboard.
Curious, she tapped the mouse. The screen blinked to life.
There it was — a folder with one single file inside:
CONFESSIONS.txt
She hesitated. The librarian still wasn’t around.
She clicked.
The File
“If you’re reading this, I hope you’re braver than me. What I saw that night… it wasn’t an accident. The fire? The student who went missing? It’s all connected. And if you dig too deep, they’ll come for you too.”
The file was signed only: K.
🧨 Cliffhanger Ending
Chisom closed the file quickly, her fingers cold. She turned to leave — and froze.
Someone had written on the back of the library door, in red marker:
“SNOOPERS END UP MISSING.”
She ran.
